XPG pitches its latest Atom 50 M.2 2280 SSDs at those planning PC builds for their creative or professional output; then again, the ADATA brand also hints one might be ideal as new backups for their PlayStation 5 (PS5) storage. The drives are rated for NVMe 1.4 and PCIe Gen4 x4 for potentially blazing maximum read and write speeds, and come with a 5-year warranty in their new markets.

Improvements over the previous generation include the latest Ryzen 6000U APUs from AMD, LPDDR5 RAM, FHD webcam, USB4 connector and a 16:10 OLED touchscreen option with 2.8K resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. The new Yoga 7 convertibles will be available in select regions excluding the U.S.

Lenovo has unveiled a new version of the Yoga Slim 9i, a 14-inch laptop that will be available with Intel Core i5-1240P or Core i7-1280P processors. Also, Lenovo will only offer the Yoga Slim 9i 14IAP7 with OLED displays, plus Intel's new Arc A350M dedicated GPU and up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM.

Lenovo has upgraded the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon as part of its Yoga 2022 refresh. The Yoga Slim 7i Carbon will be orderable from this summer with up to a Core i7-1260P processor and a 2.5K display with a 90 Hz refresh rate.

Lenovo has announced a 16-inch version of the Yoga Slim 7i Pro. To be available with the Core i5-12500H or the Core i7-12700H, the Yoga Slim 7i Pro 16IAH7 will start €1,499 when it becomes orderable in July. Also, the Yoga Slim 7i Pro 16IAH7 will offer the Intel Arc A370M, one of the company's first laptop GPUs.

The new Yoga Slim 7 Pro has been upgraded to AMD's latest Ryzen 6000HS Creator Editions APUs. Also, the 14-inch laptop has a choice of three displays, up to a 2.8K OLED panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate. The Yoga Slim 7 Pro 14ARH7 will be available from August 2022, starting at €999 in the Eurozone.

Lenovo has unveiled the Yoga Slim 7 Pro 16ARH7, a 16-inch laptop powered by either the Ryzen 5 6600HS Creator Edition or the Ryzen 7 6800HS Creator Edition. The system also comes with an RTX 3050 or an RTX 3050 Ti, plus a 165 Hz display that resolves at 2.5K.

Hybrid architecture at 28W. After Intel already launched the H45 Alder Lake CPUs a couple of weeks ago, we now get the first laptops with the 28W P-series CPUs. We had the chance to test the new Core i7-1260P in Lenovo's Yoga 9i 14 and the performance is very good, but at the cost of the power consumption.

As expected, the Ryzen 7000X desktop processors will launch in Q3-Q4 this year with a 65+ W TDP and support for DDR5 / PCIe 5.0. However, it looks like the mobile sector is in for a big shake-up. AMD mentions the launch of 55+ W TDP Dragon Range models for extreme gaming laptops with the most cores on the market, plus the Phoenix models with 35-45 W TDPs for thin and light laptops, both scheduled for an early 2023 release.

Razer has revealed a new version of the Blade 15, which retains a powerful Alder Lake processor and an RTX 30 series GPU. However, the Blade 15 will also be available with a 240 Hz OLED display, which also operates at a UHD resolution.

Intel and AMD are each just a few steps away from making the GeForce MX series obsolete. Dell has released AMD Ryzen 6000 versions of the Alienware m15 R7, previously available with just Intel Alder Lake options. The Alienware m15 R7 comes with up to a Ryzen 9 6900HX, an RTX 3080 Ti and a 360 Hz display, among other gaming-focused features.

Dell has lifted the lid on the G15 5525, an AMD alternative to this year's G15 5520. The Dell G15 5525 remains a 15-inch gaming laptop and is available with various combinations of AMD Ryzen 6000 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series components. Dell is shipping the G15 5525 now, starting at US$899.99.

Gigabyte has beaten Intel to revealing the Core i9-12900HX, a 55 W processor that has 16 cores and a 5.0 GHz peak clock speed. The Core i9-12900HX will be available in the AORUS 17X YE, which also includes the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and a 360 Hz display.

AMD’s new Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U and Ryzen 5 PRO 6650U have turned up on PassMark and have produced impressive results that shine a very positive light on the latest Zen 3+ offerings. Both Ryzen 6000 chips, built for use in thin and light laptops, outpaced the Intel Core i7-1260P, with the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 6850U looking particularly strong.

A Core i7 12700H CPU and a GeForce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU ensure that all current games can be played smoothly on a 17.3-inch screen (FHD, 360 Hz). The notebook offers room for two PCIe-4 SSDs and features a Thunderbolt-4 port.

Reportedly, AMD plans to release next-generation APUs with Zen 4 cores and double the CUs that it currently offers in the Radeon 680M. While tipped to remain on the RDNA 2 architecture, the iGPUs are expected to deliver enough performance to serve as alternatives to entry-level discrete GPUs.

Estimations warn that over 1 million Lenovo devices suffer from medium threat UEFI BIOS vulnerabilities. Patches are already available for most models, yet some devices will not get the fix before May 10.
