At the end of 2020, the Intel Tiger Lake-driven MSI Prestige 14 Evo visited our labs for an in-depth review and the tests we subjected it to proved that this light machine is "a nice all-rounder for on-the-go use" and ended up with an 83% score. However, the model we reviewed used the Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor. Now, the MSI Prestige 14 Evo with a slower Intel Core i5-1135G7 inside, but identical specs and features otherwise, is down by 32% on Amazon. Thanks to this generous discount, those interested can get this professional laptop for US$750 instead of US$1,099.

The list of common specs and features that can be found on all MSI Prestige 14 Evo A11M and A11MO models includes a 14-inch FHD IPS display with a 60 Hz refresh rate, Intel Iris Xe graphics, IR HD webcam capable of 30 fps 720p video capture, as well as two Type-C ports with Thunderbolt and PD charging, one USB 2.0 Type-A, and a microSD card reader. However, while the A11M features 802.11 ax WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1, the A11MO models come with Killer 802.11 ax WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. The discounted MSI Prestige 14 Evo comes with Windows 10 Home and the only color available is Carbon Gray.

The Intel Core i7-powered model that we reviewed was labeled A11M-005, so it is closely related to the discounted A11M-221. Unsurprisingly, the weak spots are the same for both. We discovered that the webcam and speakers could be improved, and the reduced number of ports and upgrade options are shortcuts that had to be taken to keep things as light as possible. On the other hand, both models deserve to be praised for their stylish design and large touchpad.
