AMD's first-ever laptop processor with 3D V-cache, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D, has been benchmarked on Geekbench. It performs on par with its non-X3D counterpart, the Ryzen 9 7945HX. The chip will debut along with the Asus ROG Strix Scar 7 X3D soon.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7700 which launched at US$329 can now be had for only US$275.99 at Amazon. Further sweetening the deal, AMD is offering a free digital copy of Bethesda Game Studio's hotly anticipated title "Starfield" with every purchase of the CPU.

Other specs include 16 GB DDR5-5200 RAM, 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage, a 16-inch IPS screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution and 165 Hz refrest rate, plus a robust port selection.

Moderate fan noise despite great performance, bright and vibrant colours, and solid workmanship: even the base model Legion Pro manages to impress as an entry-level gaming laptop. The modestly priced AMD version demonstrates how much performance you can potentially get out of the RTX 4050.

The R7 7800X3D is currently priced at US$441, but Ebay now has an unbeatable offer for the Ryzen 9 7900X3D that also includes a Starfield game code for only US$439.

The Legion Slim 5 has received a 14-inch refresh. Offered with the AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS, the Legion Slim 5 14 also has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (105 W TGP) and a large battery that supports 140 W charging. Lenovo installs a 120 Hz OLED display too, among other features.

According to a new report, Lenovo has developed a Windows 11-based gaming handheld to rival the likes of the ASUS ROG Ally. Reputedly, the Lenovo Legion Go utilises an 8-inch display, as well as a first-rate AMD Ryzen 7040U APU.

One-netbook now offers the regular ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro with the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU. Previously restricted to the EVA Limited Edition, the Ryzen 7 7840U features the Radeon 780M iGPU, Zen 4 CPU cores and is complemented by 32 GB of RAM with 1 TB or 2 TB of storage.

AMD is introducing its 3D V-cache technology to gaming laptops with the launch of the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D. The Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is similar to the Ryzen 9 7945HHX but with a 200 MHz lower base clock, a total of 128 MB of L3 cache, and a 55 W+ TDP envelope. The Ryzen 9 7945HX3D will debut together with the Asus Strix Scar 17 X3D later in August.

The Ryzen 5 7500F is the latest entry into the Zen 4 desktop CPU family. The processor costs US$179 and supports A620 motherboards making it a good choice for budget-focused gamers. According to Quasarzone’s review of the chip, the Ryzen 5 7500F performs better than the more expensive Core i5-13500 and the Core i5-13400 in gaming workloads.

One-netbook continues to tease the ONEXFLY, its 7-inch and AMD Ryzen 7 7840U-powered gaming handheld. Purportedly, the ONEXFLY will cost slightly more than the ASUS ROG Ally, a gaming handheld to which One-netbook also compares the ONEXFLY.

The new Ryzen Edition ultrabook from Redmi also features 16 GB LPDDR5-6400 RAM, 512 GB PCie 4.0 NVMe SSD, 15.6-inch 3.2K IPS with 500 nit brightness, full-size SD card reader and a 72 Wh battery with 100 W GaN fast charger.

With the new BIOS version, most of the Ryzen 7000 CPUs will be running at least DDR5-6400 1:1 stably. Up to DDR5-8000+ is now possible depending on silicon lottery, but in order to achieve such speeds users only need a B650 motherboard. X670E mobos can achieve DDR5-8200 with some tinkering.

The Framework Laptop 16, a modular gaming notebook Framework announced in March, is now available for pre-order. While the price for a DIY version starts at US$1399, adding a discrete GPU module bumps the price by $400 to $1799. A fully assembled model starts at $1699 without the dGPU and $2099 with one.

It is now ~US$100 cheaper than the Intel i5-13600K, while the non-X 7600 is US20 more expensive, as well. This deal is even better when we factor in the included Starfield game code.

Three new workstation laptops with AMD Ryzen CPUs are coming out: The new Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 and P16s Gen 2 will feature Ryzen 7040U, while the bigger Lenovo ThinkPad P16v combines Ryzen 7040HS with the Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada.

AYA NEO is now selling the AIR 1S, a compact gaming handheld with a 5.5-inch OLED display. The AYA NEO AIR 1S also features the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, a Zen 4 and RDNA 3 APU that can be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM and 4 TB of storage.

GPD has revealed pricing and a release date for the Win 4 2023, its Ryzen 7040U and Oculink refresh of the Win 4. Available from next week, the Win 4 2023 will start at US$699, US$100 less than the Win 4. GPD will charge at least US$839 for Ryzen 7 7840U configurations, though.

The AYANEO AIR 1S is almost here, with AYANEO set to launch its compact gaming handheld tomorrow. The company has confirmed pricing, specifications and details about a lightweight edition that barely exceeds 400 g and is a mere 18 mm thick.

Introduced as the ultimate processor for gamers and creators with no less than 144 MB of cache memory, 16 cores, 32 threads, and a maximum boost speed of 5.7 GHz, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D is now 10% off on Amazon. However, the discounted price of US$629.99 can drop to US$550 thanks to a US$72.99 coupon applied at checkout.

Newegg is offering a US$400 discount on the newly-launched Asus TUF Gaming A17 gaming laptop, which is now priced at the same level as some last gen TUF laptops with RTX 3070.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7840U version of the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro is now available globally. Sold as the ONEXPLAYER 2 Pro EVA Limited Edition, the gaming handheld has an 8.4-inch display, a 65.5 Wh battery, detachable controllers and 32 GB of RAM, among other features.

GPD is preparing to release another gaming handheld based on AMD Ryzen 7040U APUs. Arriving after the Win Max 2 2023 and the Win 4 2023, the GPD Win Mini will have a 7-inch display, a 6-row keyboard and eGPU support, among other features.

Introduced in late September 2022 alongside the Ryzen 5 7600X and the Ryzen 9 7900X/7950X duo, the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor had a launch price of US$399. Now available on Amazon with a higher list price of US$449, it can be acquired for US$314.06 thanks to a generous discount of no less than 30%.

AYA NEO is refreshing the AIR, its compact gaming handheld with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. To be available as the AIR 1S, the device will feature the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U APU with Zen 4 CPU cores and RDNA 3 GPU cores, LPDDR5X RAM and improved speakers, among other changes.

The product page specs for the Ryzen 3 7440U indicate that the smaller CCD measures 137mm² instead of 178mm². Even though this is not reflected on the official specs, industry sources claim that the smaller CCD is also present on the Ryzen 5 7540U.

The ROG Flow X13 model in question is not yet in stock, but if it starts selling at the listed price and Best Buy adds some discounts, it could become an attractive budget gaming option that benefits from a glossy touchscreen, increased versatility with the 360-degree hinge. fast LPDDR5-6400 RAM and a port selection with USB4 and the XG mobile interface.

GMKtec is now selling the NucBox K4 globally. The GMKtec NucBox K4 comes with the AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS and Radeon 780M, supports DDR5 RAM and has an M.2 2280 slot for PCIe 4.0 storage. The mini-PC starts at US$519 as a barebones unit or US$689 as a pre-configured unit.

GPD has revealed the Win 4 (2023), an AMD Ryzen 7040U refresh of its popular gaming handheld. The GPD Win 4 (2023) also features an OcuLink port, making it compatible with the GPD G1 eGPU.

The configuration on sale also features 16 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage, dual USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports, a full-size SD card reader and a 2560 x 1600 165 Hz IPS screen.

The first laptops with up to 96 GB RAM could be right around the corner as 24 GB and 48 GB DDR5-5600 modules have been spotted in China. These appear to feature the new 24 Gb chips produced by SK Hynix, and the prices are surprisingly low on the open market, but don’t expect similar price points from laptop OEMs.

Launched in September 2022, the Ryzen 5 7600X is a mid-range chip featuring AMD’s latest Zen 4 CPU architecture. Coupled with architectural improvements and a boost clock of 5.3 GHz, the processor has speedy performance and can even trump the 12th gen Intel Core i9-12900K in gaming.

Intel’s Xeon w9-3495X workstation processor has affirmed its position near the top of PassMark’s High End CPU chart, becoming only the second chip to have settled on an average score over 100,000 points. However, the Sapphire Rapids-WS part was not able to overtake AMD’s EPYC 9654 despite slightly breaking up Team Red’s chart domination.

The Zen 4 Ryzen 9 7950X and the Ryzen 9 7900 are now going for US$42 and US$50 off the US$571 and US$429 list prices respectively. The price cuts make what were already a pair of very high-performing CPUs much better choices.

Until OEMs decide to offer laptops featuring AMD's Phoenix 7040 APUs without any dGPU for US$800 or lower, Lenovo's LOQ budget gaming models that are now on sale for a little over US$1,000 seem to be the next best thing.

One-netbook has revealed various details about the ONEXFLY, nine months after it shared initial teasers. The company has now torn up plans to release a 6-inch and AMD Mendocino gaming handheld, with the ONEXFLY an exact replica of the AOKZOE A2 instead.

AMD has announced three new Zen 4-based Phoenix processors for thin and light laptops. The Ryzen 9 7940HS, Ryzen 7 7840HS, and Ryzen 5 7650HS will power a wide range of products from Asus, Razer, HP and Acer later this year.

The Morefine M600 has received an AMD Phoenix refresh. Now available with the Ryzen 7 7840HS or Ryzen 9 7940HS, the mini-PC is also configurable with up to 64 GB of RAM and 4 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage. Prices start at just over US$500 for barebones units.

AMD has launched six new processors under the Ryzen Pro 7040 moniker. They include a mix of 28 Watt and 54 Watt parts, some of which come with AMD's new AI chip. They will launch alongside laptops from HP and Lenovo later this year.
