Deal | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D slips under US$400
AMD is currently the only CPU maker to offer 3D-stacked cache with its V-Cache technology on consumer CPUs, which are quite a bit faster than Intel’s top-of-the-line i9 solutions when it comes to gaming, insomuch that Team Blue is now scrambling to add its own version of 3D-stacked cache. This will not happen for at least one more year, though, so AMD’s gaming advantage is safe for now. Value-wise, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D offers the best performance due to the CCD configuration, and thanks to the latest price drops, this processor is now available for under US$400 at select retailers.
B&H and Amazon both have the Ryzen 7 7800X3D listed at only US$389 (+shipping) including the Starfield game code. This is the tray version without a cooler, but no decent gamer would use the default cooler anyway. Prices for the budget B650 motherboards have also slipped under US$200 now, so a decent 1440p gaming rig can easily be built for around US$1,000.
If you happen to live near a Microcenter physical store in the US, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D can be purchased for only US$379.99. Buyers need to pick up the model in store to benefit from the lower price, as there is no shipping option.
