HP Pavilion Plus 14 laptops refreshed with AMD Phoenix and Intel Raptor Lake, 16-inch model introed with Nvidia RTX 3050
HP is expanding the Pavilion Plus lineup with the first AMD-powered variant for the 14-inch model, along with a refreshed Intel variant powered by Raptor Lake CPUs, plus a brand new 16-inch form-factor that is Intel-only for now.
Starting with the new 14-inch models, HP is offering either Intel Raptor Lake processors up to an i7 SKU with Iris Xe iGPU, or AMD Phoenix APUs up to a Ryzen 7 7840H with Radeon 780M iGPU. The Intel versions feature up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x-5200 RAM, while the AMD versions come equipped with up to 32 GB of the faster LPDDR5x-6400 spec.
Otherwise, the specs are the same for both 14-inch variants, including display options up to a 16:10 OLED with 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 500 nit brightness with HDR and IMAX Enhanced certifications. For storage, HP offers up to a 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and the laptops come standard with 5 MP IR webcams and fast wireless connections facilitated through a MediaTek Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card. There is no Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 connector, but port selection comes with 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB-A 3.2, HDMI 2.1 video out and audio combo jack. A 51 Wh battery is supplied for the non-OLED configurations, whereas a larger 68 Wh battery is provided for the configurations with an OLED display.
Since it comes with a larger chassis, the 16-inch model may be equipped with an RTX 3050 dGPU, which is coupled with up to an i7-13700H CPU and 16 GB of LPDDR5x-5200 RAM. Unfortunately there is no OLED display for this form-factor, yet HP is including a high-quality IPS panel with 2560 x 1600 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate and VRR. The 5 MP IR webcam makes an appearance here too, as well as the larger 68 Wh battery. Port selection is mostly the same, except one of the USB-C ports is replaced with a Thunderbolt 4 connector.
Engadget reports that the 16-inch model will see availability this October and pricing starts at US$849.99 (US$1,000 for the RTX 3050 configuration). The new 14-inchers will be available later this September with prices starting at US$849.99.
