Deal | AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D drops to US$550 on Amazon thanks to a 10% discount and a US$72.99 coupon
AMD introduced the US$699-priced Ryzen 9 7950X3D alongside the US$100 cheaper Ryzen 7 7900X3D (down to US$530 at the time of publishing) in late February 2023. In the meantime, as a few other chips joined the Zen 4-based Ryzen 7000 lineup, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D received a 10% discount. The good news is that Amazon is now offering a US$72.99 coupon that, applied on checkout, brings the price of this 16-core, 32-thread processor down to a more wallet-friendly US$550.
The Ryzen 9 7950X3D comes with a maximum boost speed of 5.7 GHz and, although it is surprisingly cool compared to other chips in the same league (from both AMD and Intel), it should be cooled using a liquid cooler. Unsurprisingly, this processor does not come with a bundled cooler. In addition to DDR 5 memory, it also supports PCIe 5.0 on select 600 Series motherboards. On the bright side, it also features a decent integrated graphics solution, although those not planning to use it just for light gaming should grab a high-end video card for a proper gaming experience.
After 84 ratings, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D has a 4.6 general score on Amazon. The breakdown by feature highlights its gaming performance (4.2), stability (4.0), and value for money (3.8).
