It is now ~US$100 cheaper than the Intel i5-13600K, while the non-X 7600 is US20 more expensive, as well. This deal is even better when we factor in the included Starfield game code.

BestBuy is now running a promotion for AMD’s Ryzen 5 7600X CPU. This 6-core / 12-thread model is now available at US$199.99, which is 33% less than its launch MSRP. With the current discount, it costs even less than the non-X 7600 currently selling at US$220.

For games and general use, the Ryzen 5 7600X is a bit faster than Intel’s i5-13600K, yet the AMD model is considerably more affordable now since the Intel CPU has not yet dropped under US$300. Additionally, the AMD processor is more energy efficient, consuming ~14% less on average, so thermals can be slightly better as well. On the other hand, the i5-13600K is substantially faster in productivity and content creation workloads, plus it has increased potential on the overclocking and RAM tuning sides.

With very affordable prices for the CPU, DDR5 RAM and some value-oriented AM5 motherboards, DIY users looking to build a mid-range system can now allocate more for the graphics card, possibly aiming for the upcoming Radeon RX 7700 or even 7800 models. As a bonus, the discounted R5 7600X now includes a free Starfield game code, adding even more value to this special offer.
