AMD sneakily included this easter egg in an interview from 2 weeks ago, but no one noticed it until yesterday. It looks like this chip is going to power the upcoming RX 7800 / XT cards, which could launch in just a few months to compete with Nvidia's RTX 4070 GPUs.

Up until now, only the high-end and lower-mid-range RDNA 3 gaming GPU models have been launched by AMD. The high-end Radeon RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT models integrate the Navi 31 flagship chip, while the Radeon RX 7600 cards are based on the Navi 33 mid-range chips. Surprisingly enough, Team Red has not yet revealed or even hinted at a higher-mid-range solution based on a Navi 32 chip to compete with Nvidia’s RTX 4070 cards. These cards would most likely be part of the RX 7800 series, and it looks like they could be launching within the next few months, as the Navi 32 chip has allegedly been spotted in a Forbes video interview with AMD CEO Lisa Su. Moreover, AMD just launched the Radeon Pro W7800 workstation GPU, which appears to be based on the Navi 32 chip.

Twitter user Hoang Anh Phu points out in a recent post that the Forbes interview with CEO Lisa Su from almost two weeks ago depicts a Navi 32 chip. According to measurements done by Videocardz, the chip featured in the video measures around 350 mm², with a GCD (Graphics Complex Die) measuring around 200 mm². The GCD is clearly shorter than the one found on the Navi 31 chip and it is surrounded by only 4x Infinity Cache memory dies instead of 6x.

Videocardz also mentions that the Navi 32 chips are rumored to feature 60 compute units with 3840 stream processors plus a 256-bit memory bus. However, the first review of the Radeon Pro W7800 card done by Igor’s Lab reveals that the Navi 32 chip could integrate up to 70 compute units, 128 AI accelerators and 70 ray tracing accelerators. We could see a 60 CU version implemented in the non-XT 7800 cards. Igor confirms that the chip has a 256-bit memory bus as the workstation card comes with 32 GB of VRAM. The gaming cards featuring the Navi 32 chip will most likely feature 16 GB, which is 33% more compared to Nvidia's RTX 4070 competitors.
