For reference, the RX 7900 XTX / XT cards are considered "ultra-enthusiast", so AMD is not launching something more powerful than the RX 7900 XTX. Not yet, at least. Instead, Team Red is most likely readying the launch for the RX 7800 and 7700 cards.

The announcement came with the Q2 2023 earnings call, as AMD CEO Lisa Su elaborated on the state of the gaming graphics side: “[...] we expanded our Radeon 7000 GPU series in the second quarter, with the launch of our mainstream RX 7600 cards pertaining to gaming. We're on track to further expand our RDNA 3 GPU offerings with the launch of new enthusiast class Radeon 7000-series cards in the third quarter."

Keeping in mind that AMD classifies the RX 7900 XTX / XT models as “ultra-enthusiast” models, the upcoming “enthusiast” cards should be the RX 7800 and 7700 cards that have been the center of a few recent Navi 32. AMD already launched the professional version of the RX 7800, so it was speculated that the gaming versions could be launching soon, as well. How soon though? Industry analysts claim that the RX 7800 could land at the end of August, while the RX 7700 might be released after a month.

Tom’s Hardware extrapolated price / performance metrics based on the RX 7600 as well as the RX 7900-series and believes that the RX 7800 GPU is likely to match the RX 6950 XT, while starting at around US$600. On the other hand, the RX 7700 might be a tad faster than the RX 6750 XT and start at US$450. These prices might not hold for long, seeing that the RX 7600 cards got a US$20 discount in under a week from launch.
