Next-gen RTX 40 and RX 7000 cards reportedly already marked down as RX 6000 and RTX 30 boards receive 33% and 12% price cuts on Newegg

According to Hardware Unboxed’s GPU pricing update for June, brand new RTX 40, RX 7000, and Intel Arc cards are now marked down by an average of 6% on Newegg. In the case of the last-gen RTX 30 and RX 6000 boards, the reported average price drops are 12% and 33% respectively.

GPU prices have been steadily dropping ever since the cryptocurrency-fueled supply crunch subsided. Almost all NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 and AMD Radeon RX 6000 cards can now be found comfortably below the launch MSRPs. Continuing their tradition of providing monthly GPU pricing updates, Hardware Unboxed has now published the pricing update for June and the overall GPU landscape seems very positive for potential buyers.

GeForce RTX 40, Radeon RX 7000, and Intel Arc prices

Per Hardware Unboxed’s report, save for the RTX 4070 and the RTX 4070 Ti, all the RTX 40 and Radeon RX 7000 GPUs are selling below their launch MSRPs. For instance, the cheapest RTX 4090 apparently costs US$1,585 on Newegg which is 1% below the US$1,600 retail price. Similarly, the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4060 Ti prices for the cheapest variants have depreciated by 8% and 5% vs the US$1,200 and US$400 MSRPs respectively.

On the AMD side, the most affordable RX 7900 XT and the RX 7900 XTX now appear to command US$950 and US$750 representing cuts of 5% and 13% on the launch prices. The newly launched RX 7600 isn’t safe from the price corrections either as Hardware Unboxed notes a depreciation of 4%.

Finally, the top-of-the-line Intel Arc A770 16 and 8 GB boards appear to be selling quite well, as the Arc A770 16 GB is now out of stock on Newegg while the price of the 8 GB variant has appreciated by US$10 to US$330. On the flip side, the Arc A750 and the Arc A730 have both seen 14% discounts on their MSRPs and can now be had for US$250 and US$120 respectively.

Overall, prices of the next-generation NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel GPUs have, on average, taken a 6% cut.

GeForce RTX 30 and Radeon RX 6000 GPU prices

When it comes to new RTX 30 GPUs, NVIDIA has finally managed to sell through the RTX 3090 Ti, the RTX 3090, and the RTX 3080 10/8 GB supply as the cards appeared out of stock on Newegg according to Hardware Unboxed’s research. Furthermore, with an average price cut of 12%, the rates for the remainder of the RTX 30 lineup including the RTX 3070 Ti and the RTX 3070 are now significantly down compared to their launch prices.

For instance, the cheapest RTX 3070 Ti reportedly costs US$520 while the cheapest RTX 3070 is going for US$450. These prices are 13% and 10% under the MSRPs of the respective boards.

Moving on to the RDNA 2 RX 6000 boards, Hardware Unboxed reports that the last-gen AMD GPUs are currently priced at a whopping 33% below their launch rates on average. For instance, the RX 6600 which had a launch MSRP of US$330 is now going for US$180 for the cheapest variant, a depreciation of 45%. Similarly, the RX 6950 XT is also enjoying a 45% cut and can be found for as little as US$600 on Newegg.

Used board prices on eBay

In addition to prices of new GPUs for sale on Newegg, Hardware Unboxed also tracked rates of used card for sale on eBay. The eBay prices for the used RTX 30 cards registered an average decrease of 8% compared to prices in May. The RTX 3050 and the RTX 3060/Ti saw the biggest price cuts of 15% and 12% respectively. So, the RTX 3050 is priced as low as US$185 while the RTX 3060 and the RTX 3060 Ti can be had for as little as US$253 and US$252 respectively.

Moving on, the AMD Radeon RX 6000 GPUs only recorded a marginal decrease of 2% in used prices. The RX 6600 and the RX 6600 XT saw the biggest rate slashes as both GPUs are reportedly selling for 8% less than May prices. Per Hardware Unboxed, the cheapest RX 6600 costs around US$142 while the most affordable used RX 6600 XT can be had for US$172.

All in all, it looks like the GPU market is going through a slowdown with new releases like the RTX 4060 Ti already marked down. Both NVIDIA and AMD have also been offering deep discounts on last-gen cards making new-gen boards, especially mainstream models like the RX 7600 and the RTX 4060 Ti, a tough sell from a price/performance standpoint.
