Deal | AMD Ryzen 9 7900 and Ryzen 9 7950X prices drop 12% and 7% below MSRP on Amazon respectively

AMD has dropped the prices of the Ryzen 9 7950X and the Ryzen 9 7900 on Amazon to US$529 and US$379 respectively. These prices represent discounts of US$42 for the Ryzen 9 7950X and US$50 for the Ryzen 9 7900 (via VideoCardz). While not big cuts, the lower rates for the Ryzen 9 7950X and the Ryzen 9 7900 are welcomed since both chips are extremely high-performing.

For starters, the 16-core/32-thread Ryzen 9 7950X is AMD’s flagship Zen 4 CPU with an incredibly fast boost clock of 5.7 GHz. In our review of the processor, we found the chip to perform on par with the Core i9-13900K in both gaming and productivity workloads while consuming less power. The processor becomes even more power efficient while losing small performance in ECO mode.

Moving on, the Ryzen 9 7900 is a 12-core/24-thread CPU that features base and boost clocks of 3.5 and 5.4 GHz respectively. The processor operates within a TDP limit of 65 W and 88 W maximum socket power draw. Due to this reduced power limit, the Ryzen 9 7900 is incredibly efficient for the amount of performance it offers as found by PCMag in their review of the chip.

What's more, the included AMD Wraith Prism cooler is perfectly capable of keeping the Ryzen 9 7900 operating under comfortable temperatures. Per PCMag's tests, the Ryzen 9 7900 with the Wraith Prism performed practically on par with the Cooler Master PL240 Flux AIO water cooler in Cinebench R23.
