The ASUS StudioBook 16 is as good in real life as it is on paper. We gave the laptop a “very good” rating of 89% in our review owing to the excellent MIL-STD-810H-certified chassis, comfortable keyboard complemented by a handy ASUS dial, speedy performance, and excellent display.
In our testing, the 16-inch 4K OLED panel managed to cover 100% of the sRGB, 100% of the DCI-P3, and 96.5% of the AdobeRGB color gamut. Coupled with a practically infinite contrast ratio and 378 nits of SDR brightness (586 nits in HDR), the ASUS StudioBook 16’s screen is a joy to use for both color-sensitive work and multimedia consumption.
Moving on to performance, the Core i9-12900H and RTX 3070 Ti-powered model we tested proved to be a snappy contender in both productivity and gaming workloads with a performance rating of 92.8%. The Core i7-12700H featured in the SKU on sale is practically on par with the Core i9-12900H in multi-core performance while only slightly falling behind in single-core tasks. For instance, the Core i9-12900H is only 3.5% faster, on average, vs the Core i7-12700H in the Cinebench R23 Single-Core benchmark.
To top it all off, the ASUS StudioBook 16 also has decent battery life as we measured a runtime of 7.5 hours in our Wi-Fi test.
