AOC AGON AG405UXC: New 40-inch gaming monitor with 144 Hz IPS panel
AOC has introduced the AGON AG405UXC, a 40-inch ultra-wide gaming monitor that relies on an IPS panel. Built around a 21:9 aspect ratio, the AGON AG405UXC operates natively at 3,440 x 1,440 pixels with a 93 PPI pixel density, which it complements with a 144 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response times (MPRT) or 4 ms GtG. Additionally, the monitor provides AMD FreeSync Premium to minimise image tearing when gaming at high refresh rates.
For some reason, AOC has not shared brightness details. Instead, the company states that the AGON AG405UXC is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified. Thus, the monitor should peak at roughly 320 nits when viewing SDR content and 400 nits if HDR content is active. Moreover, the monitor covers 100% and 89% of the sRGB and DCI-P3 colour spaces, respectively. The monitor has a height and tilt adjustable stand too, along with the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x HDMI 2.0
- 1x USB 3.2 Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode/90 W Power Delivery)
- 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A (downstream)
According to AOC, it will start selling the AGON AG405UXC later this month in the UK for £569.99. Alternatively, the same gaming monitor will be available in the Eurozone for €709, although prices differ on retailers like Alternate and Amazon. Please see AOC's website for further details.
