BenQ PhotoVue: Pre-orders open for new SW272U and SW272Q professional monitors
BenQ has opened pre-orders for the PhotoVue SW272U and PhotoVue SW272Q, two 27-inch IPS monitors aimed at photo and video editors. In short, little separates the pair, as their names suggest. For example, they both support HDR10 and cover 99% of the Adobe RGB colour space. Additionally, BenQ has equipped the pair with Thunderbolt 3 ports that can recharge a connected device at up to 90 W.
Moreover, BenQ ships the Hotkey Puck G3 with each monitor, a wireless accessory that can control the menu options (OSD) of up to three compatible monitors via IR. Also, every unit is factory calibrated and supports hardware calibration through BenQ's Master Ultimate software range, allowing for precise colour adjustments with an optional colourimeter. Furthermore, BenQ includes DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.0 ports, plus USB 3.1 Type-A and USB Type-B ports, an SD card reader and a 3.5 mm jack for connecting external audio equipment.
The PhotoVue SW272U has a few advantages though, such as superior DCI-P3 colour space coverage (99%) and higher peak brightness (400 nits). In comparison, the PhotoVue SW272Q delivers 90% DCI-P3 colour space coverage and cannot exceed 300 nits. However, the PhotoVue SW272Q is a 1440p monitor, whereas the PhotoVue SW272U operates natively at 4K. Both combine their resolutions with 60 Hz refresh rates and 5 ms response times (GtG). The PhotoVue SW272Q and PhotoVue SW272U are available to order now for US$799.99 and US$1,599.99, respectively.
