McLaren Applied has unveiled the LAVOIE Series 1 e-scooter, now available to order in the US, UK and EU. The vehicle has a patent-pending Flowfold system to make the gadget easier to store or transport. Other features include a digital dashboard, 900W motor and 468Wh battery.

The LAVOIE Series 1 e-scooter is now available to order in the US, the UK and the EU. The vehicle, designed by McLaren Applied, features Flowfold technology, which the company seeks to patent. The system has been inspired by the suspension in a motorsport car for an exceptionally compact fold; even the handlebars can fold away. Flowfold can also switch to park mode, lowering the deck to create a stable resting position for the scooter.

The LAVOIE vehicle has a 900W motor with 30Nm torque, allowing you to reach speeds up to 40 kph (~25 kph). The speed and power can be capped in the accompanying app. You can select from three power modes, and the scooter can tackle inclines of up to 15%. The Series 1 has a 468Wh battery for a 40 km (~25 miles) range, while the Series 1 Max has a 702Wh battery for up to 60 km (~40 miles) range. Made from magnesium and aluminum alloys, the lightweight e-scooter features a light halo at the front and brake lights at the rear to help you to see and be seen in the dark.

Other features include a built-in display, showing your speed and distance travelled, suspension and shock absorption. You can now order the LAVOIE Series 1 and Series 1 Max e-scooters for US$1,990/£1,890/€1,990 and US$2,230/£2,190/€2,290, respectively. The scooter, available in four colorways, is expected to be delivered this November. The first 469 units, a limited Founders Edition, will be numbered and feature a bespoke plaque.
