The S80 Solar Scooter has been unveiled, a new model which can be powered solely using its built-in solar panels. The EV has a 468Wh battery fueled by two integrated panels, with a full charge providing 35 km (~22 miles) of range. Other features include a kickstand, headlight and handlebar dashboard.

The S80 Solar Scooter was unveiled at Eurobike 2023. The model, developed by Chinese company Jiangsu Snail Zhixing Technology, uses built-in solar panels to charge, removing the need to plug the EV into the mains and reducing carbon emissions. The first 630mm (~24.8-in) solar panel is at the front of the scooter, with another covering the deck.

The S80 has a 468Wh battery that allows you to travel for up to 35 km (~22 miles) when fully charged. A full recharge can take seven to fourteen hours when using solar energy. A 350W rear-mounted motor allows you to travel at up to 25 kph (~16 mph). The e-scooter is equipped with 10-inch tires, 130mm (~5.1-in) thick, providing a firm grip and a headlight and rear brake light to help keep you safe in low lighting. Other features include a kickstand and a dashboard to show speed and battery level.

Foldable handles make the scooter easier to store or transport; the scooter is relatively heavy, weighing 40 kg (~88 lbs). Optional extras include a range extender battery and app-based controls, and the scooter comes in various colors, such as black, orange, blue and green. The S80 Solar Scooter is expected to retail for US1,400; when and where it will go on sale remains unclear.
