ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY: Gaming handheld rebirthed as AOKZOE A2 lookalike
One-netbook has returned to the ONEXFLY, gaming handheld that the company first teased in September 2022. Initially, the company claimed that the ONEXFLY would rely on AMD Mendocino APUs, such as the Ryzen 5 7520U. To recap, Mendocino APUs combine Zen 2 CPU cores with RDNA 2-derived iGPUs. GPU performance is well down on AMD's other iGPUs though, leading to low adoption among gaming handheld manufacturers, even with low-cost options.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, One-netbook has changed tack since AMD Mendocino machines started shipping. Instead, the ONEXFLY will launch with the Ryzen 7 7840U, AMD's APU of choice for modern gaming handhelds. Also available as the Ryzen Z1 Extreme in the ASUS ROG Ally, the Ryzen 7 7840U combines Zen 4 CPU cores with a Radeon 780M iGPU based on the RDNA 3 architecture.
Moreover, the ONEXFLY's 6-inch display has made way for a 7-inch panel that operates at 1080p in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Elsewhere, the ONEXFLY has a 48 Wh battery, weighs 580 g and combines 16 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage. One-netbook has now shared official ONEXFLY images too, revealing its shared lineage with the AOKZOE A2. As Liliputing notes, AOKZOE and One-netbook have not been forthcoming about the extent of their associations. However, the website expects One-netbook to sell the ONEXFLY globally, where it will be joined by the AOKZOE A2.
