Anbernic RG Nano starts as new gaming handheld with Game Boy Pocket styling for US$59.99
Anbernic has started selling the RG Nano, a tiny gaming handheld that measures just 71 x 43 x 17 mm and is modelled on the Game Boy Pocket. According to the manufacturer, the device also weighs 75 g, roughly a ninth of other gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. Unsurprisingly, the RG Nano offers relatively low performance, although Anbernic claims that it should be capable of emulating PS1 games.
While Anbernic has not revealed all relevant chipset details, it outlines that the RG Nano relies on an ARM Cortex-A7 CPU core that can boost to 1.2 GHz. The company also complements the SoC with 64 MB of DDR2 RAM and a 1,050 mAh battery that should last up to 2:30 hours between charges. As usual, Anbernic does not include any built-in storage. Instead, the gaming handheld has a MicroSD card reader.
Moreover, the RG Nano features a 1.54-inch IPS display that operates at 240 x 240 pixels in a 1:1 aspect ratio, a USB Type-C port and a small speaker on its bottom edge. The RG Nano starts at US$65.99 with a 64 GB MicroSD card and rises to US$73.99 with a 128 GB card. Currently, Anbernic is offering US$6 off both SKUs, reducing them to US$59.99 and US$67.99, respectively. Please note that the company states that these prices will increase on June 15.
