A great entertainer. Acer is refreshing its range of 18.4-inch multimedia notebooks with the Aspire 8943G. The hardware is the same for the most part, but there have been some changes on the outside. Is it enough to set the new Aspire 8943G apart from the previous models?

More Power. The G73 already let the hearts of the notebook gaming community beat faster in its first available alternative. Asus has now upgraded it and equips the machine with an i7 quad-core CPU, 8 GB RAM, a 1 TB mass memory and a FullHD display.

A Green Starter Thinkpad? A relatively inexpensive business notebook with a good performance, long battery life and even environmentally-friendly: Who could resist that? We've checked if Lenovo can keep its promotion promises.

Basics. The model range Extensa 7630G from Acer finds its circle of customers in small and mid-sized businesses, but it is also interesting for private users. It draws the attention of the buyer thanks in particular to its value-for-money ratio.

On top of that, Acer assures customers that the laptop will also have long battery life and easy-to-use switchable graphics.

Lowrider. Dell models bearing the -z suffix are differentiated from the all-around Inspiron family by being particularly mobile. A thin housing, energy-sipping CPU's and large-capacity batteries should keep even the most demanding users away from the wall outlet.

Qosmio's newest family addition. The first look at the 15.6 inch sized multimedia notebook reveals a BluRay drive, a GeForce GT330M graphics and the Toshiba-typical Harman/Kardon loudspeakers. We are anxious to find out what else is concealed in the glossy red-black case.

Some platforms are obviously dearly loved. This is also the case for the well-known, colorful 17" Gaming Barebone from MSI. With an Intel Core i7-720QM and ATI HD5870 graphics, it celebrates its return in the GX740 and promises first class gaming performance.

i7 power. After a long wait, the updated MacBook Pro models have finally arrived. We put the most powerful model with its glossy 1440 x 900 screen to the test, and ask whether it is truly worth the high price.

New Vostro. The Vostro 3500 has Intel's latest hardware and Nvidia's GeForce G310M graphic card in a new aluminum case, as well as a few improvements in the configuration to offer in this review. As usual, Dell also offers numerous options besides that.

Small. Light. Wind. The manufacturer MSI beefs up once again and expands its Wind range by the U160 with a 10 inch WSVGA display, Intel Atom N450, one GB DDR 2 RAM and 160 GB hard disk. An Intel GMA 3150 chip, already integrated into the Atom N450 CPU, is used for the graphic solution.

Workstation Lite. The Tecra S11 is intended to be a workstation computer, according to Toshiba. But it is questionable whether its Nvidia Quadro NVS 2100M graphics card will satisfy the performance-orientated user. At least Toshiba has gone all out on the processor, opting for a i5-520M or i7-620M.

The State of the Netbook. The all-time favorite, Acer Aspire One, attempts to deliver high performance, unlike the other typical, Atom-based netbooks, with its Intel Celeron M processor.
