For creators on the go. Asus' new ProArt PZ13 is a relatively robust convertible for creative users who also want to be able to do their work in adverse conditions. The new 8-core Snapdragon X Plus from Qualcomm powers the device, which ensures long runtimes, among other things. However, the same as on the other ProArt models, its OLED touchscreen is limited to 60 Hz.

The slowest Snapdragon SoC for 1149 euros. The Vivobook S 15 OLED was one of the first notebooks with the new Snapdragon X Elite, and now Asus is also launching a cheaper version with the new Snapdragon X Plus 8-core. However, the remaining specifications, including the 120 Hz OLED, are identical. However, the price difference to the faster X Elite model is too small.

The fastest Qualcomm chip. The Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge 16, which is currently the only laptop fitted with the fastest Snapdragon X Elite processor (X1E-84-100), has higher CPU core clock rates as well as a faster Adreno GPU. However, the slim Galaxy Book4 can only use its performance potential to a limited extent.

Ryzen AI 300 beats Meteor Lake. Asus now also offers its ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming/multimedia hybrids with the new Zen 5 processors from AMD. We have tested the version with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the dedicated GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop. It continues to feature the same wonderful 240-Hz OLED screen—as well as an annoying third fan.

Lightning fast. The TP-Link Archer BE800 uses the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard including the 6-GHz band and MLO. The router also has a modern wired setup and features two 10 Gbps ports. Wi-Fi 7 & 32 GB RAM. With the Yoga Slim 7x, Lenovo offers a 14-inch multimedia laptop that combines the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite with a 90-Hz OLED touchscreen. But is the good battery life enough to justify the high price and compatibility problems?

A significantly better price-to-performance ratio. The base variant of the new Surface Pro 11 has gone with an IPS display and the supposedly slower Snapdragon X Plus processor. In practice, you don't notice the lower performance but some constraints remain due to the ARM version of Windows.

Chance your ARM. With the SPRCHRGD 14 S1, Medion has hopped aboard the Windows on ARM train: The 14-incher offers moderate emissions, long battery life, 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD and a bright 2.8K panel (IPS, sRGB, 120 Hz, 16:10). With an asking price of around $1,400 (EUR to USD exchange rate at the time of testing), it is currently one of the more affordable Snapdragon X laptops.

A creative powerhouse. With the ProArt P16, Asus has released a powerful 16-inch laptop that combines the new AMD Zen 5 processor with the dedicated GeForce RTX 4070 laptop and 64 GB of RAM, however, its high-resolution 4K OLED touchscreen only offers a frequency of 60 Hz.

A wonderful keyboard but only 60 Hz OLED. With the ProArt PX13, Asus has a new 13.3-inch 2-in-1 with powerful hardware in its range. In addition to the brand new AMD Zen 5 mobile processors, it also comes with a GeForce 4070 laptop. AMD Strix Point at 28 watts. The Zenbook S 16 marks Asus' first Copilot+ laptop to be fitted with AMD's new Zen 5 mobile processors. Adding to this is a 1.3-cm-flat case as well as a brilliant 120-Hz OLED display. Has this already made the Snapdragon laptops obsolete after only one month?

Snapdragon X Elite with several downgrades. Samsung has expanded its Galaxy Book4 series with two Snapdragon variants which feature 14-inch and 16-inch screens. The Galaxy Book4 Edge 16 has lots of similarities to the Galaxy Book4 Pro 16 but upon closer inspection, there are quite a few differences—unfortunately mostly negative ones for the new ARM laptop.

A 600 nits, 120 Hz IPS panel Similar to the new Surface Pro, Microsoft has also now introduced a new edition of its Surface laptop (now in its 7th generation) that relies exclusively on Qualcomm’s ARM processor. ARM Windows 2.0. Qualcomm launches the new Snapdragon X Elite about nine months after the official announcement - with support from Microsoft and all the major laptop manufacturers. MacBook Air killer or all just hype? The Vivobook S 15 OLED was previously only available with AMD and Intel processors but now, the new ARM chip—the Snapdragon X Elite—makes its debut inside this large multimedia laptop. The result is a surprisingly normal laptop with an impressive OLED panel which, unfortunately, doesn't run all applications and games.

Expensive and too slow. MSI is slightly late to the gaming handheld bandwagon by releasing the Claw—an Intel-based model. Up to 64 GB RAM. Dell has created the new XPS 13 out of its old XPS 13 Plus and—the same as with its larger siblings—this means it has an unconventional keyboard and an annoying touchbar. The new Core Ultra processor from Intel delivers decent everyday performance, however, its IPS display is a lot dimmer than advertized.

Powerhouse. A Core i9-14900HX and a GeForce RTX 4070 equip the Aorus 16X (2024) for video editing, gaming and rendering. Adding to this is a bright 16-inch display (16:10, 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, G-Sync), 32 GB RAM, two SSDs with 1 TB of storage each, as well as a Thunderbolt 4 port.

Light as a feather with Wi-Fi 7. MSI's Prestige 13 AI Evo is an extremely compact and lightweight subnotebook featuring good connectivity options, an OLED panel and a Meteor Lake processor. When it comes to its performance, however, you may have to make a few compromises—plus, the laptop's fan has its work cut out for it.
