In addition to the standard T14 and T16, Lenovo also updates the more premium T series model, the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 7. The new version comes with the latest CPUs, which includes Intel Panther Lake, AMD Gorgon Point, but also the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite. Additionally, Lenovo has revamped the design, making it more repairable, lightweight and convenient to use by adding a USB-C port on the right side.

Choosing a Lenovo ThinkPad T series with a 14-inch screen can be confusing - ThinkPad T14 and ThinkPad T14s do not just sound similar, they are in many ways. Yet, Lenovo maintains the T14s series as a separate option, a slimmer and slightly more premium version of the ThinkPad T series.

That does not change with the latest ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 that was just announced at MWC 2026 - if anything, Lenovo makes this even more clear, as the new ThinkPad T14s G7 sheds even more weight. The newest models starts at just 1.1 kg instead of 1.24 kg like the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 (available on Amazon). The lower weight is not the only design change. With the T14s G7, Lenovo adds a third USB-C port on the right side of the system, which means you can charge the system from either side. One loss connected to that: The second USB-A port was axed.

In other aspects, the hardware remains unchanged, like the size of the screen (14-inch, up to 2.8K OLED displays), the battery capacity of 58 Wh or the 1.5 mm key travel of the ThinkPad keyboard. What does change are the chassis color options. Besides the classic black, Lenovo has a new one called "Cosmic Blue". The era of gray being an option on the T series is therefore over.

As the other T series ThinkPads, the T14s Gen 7 is powered by a variety of new CPUs, including the AMD Ryzen AI 400 series, also known as AMD Gorgon Point, as well as Intel Panther Lake. Different from its standard T series counterparts, however, the T14s Gen 7 provides a third option: The Qualcomm Snapdragon CPUs of the X2 Elite and X2 Plus series. All of these CPUs can be paired with up to 64 GB of soldered LPDDR5X RAM and 2 TB of SSD storage.

Last, but certainly not least, Lenovo has improved some aspect of the repairability. In this, the T14s line remains less modular than its sibling T14, but Lenovo has made some progress, which includes a battery that is easier to remove as well as user replaceable USB-C charging ports.
