Deal | 64 GB RAM, 4K display, 56% off: Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 laptop with RTX 3500 Ada GPU gets big discount

If you are a content creator or someone who needs a lot of horsepower, a workstation laptop makes a lot of sense right now, as building a powerful desktop gaming PC has gotten considerably expensive. Lenovo has now made this choice even easier by offering the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 workstation laptop at a massive 56% discount.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 on sale comes with a Core i7-14700HX CPU, an RTX 3500 Ada workstation GPU, 1 TB of fast PCIe Gen 4 storage, and 64 GB of replaceable DDR5 memory. Around the front, there is a 16-inch 4K IPS panel that covers 100% DCI-P3 and boasts 800 nits of max brightness.
The ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 with these specs has a usual list price of $4,059 accoring to Lenovo. With a 56% discount, you can get the laptop for just $1,759 on Lenovo’s official store.
We have reviewed a different configuration of the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 in detail. The laptop earned a high 86% rating from us. We praised the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 for its durable chassis, good display, high performance, and extensive user-upgradability options. The ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 on sale also boasts these qualities.
While not as powerful as our review model that packed the RTX 4000 Ada, the combination of the Core i7-14700HX and the RTX 3500 Ada in the ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 under discussion is more than fast enough for demanding tasks. Our testing shows that the 12 GB RTX 3500 Ada can perform at the level of an RTX 5060 laptop GPU.
The screen on the discounted ThinkPad P16 Gen 2, however, is even better than our review device, as it is higher resolution (2K vs 4K), features a wider color gamut (100% sRGB vs 100% DCI-P3), and is brighter (531 nits vs 800 nits).
Moreover, the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2 on sale packs a good port selection with:
- Two Thunderbolt 4 ports
- One full-sized SD card reader
- Two Type-A ports
- One Type-C port with DP
- An HDMI out
Other notable specs include a big 94 Wh battery, Intel Wi-Fi 6E, and a 1080p webcam with privacy shutter.
Sadly, if you want the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2, you’ll have to contend with high operating temperatures under load, loud fans, and a weight of almost 3 kg (6.5 lbs.). We think these compromises are worth it at the current sales price.
