Lenovo new generation of the business laptop ThinkPad T14s once again gives customers the choice between AMD and Intel processors, even though the overall level of performance is pretty much the same as before. The cooling performance is a bit better, which results in a higher multi-core performance of the familiar AMD Zen 5 processor, but the graphics performance of the Radeon 860M is actually a bit worse compared to the predecessor, which was available with the Radeon 880M. The situation is similar for the Intel models: Lenovo only uses Panther Lake mobile processors with the slower iGPUs, so the CPU performance is a bit better, while the GPU performance is lower compared to the old Arc Graphics 140V.
The default screen is a brighter IPS touchscreen, but you can also get an optional matte OLED screen with a frequency of 120 Hz when you prefer better image quality. Thanks to the additional USB-C port on the right side, you can now charge the ThinkPad from both sides. The laptop also benefits from improved speakers as well as longer battery runtimes.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 with AMD processor now weighs less at around 1.2 kg, so it is not much heavier than the current ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14, which is actually just 60 grams lighter. The mixture of a carbon fiber hybrid lid and the aluminum base unit still offers good stability despite the low weight.
