Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series: Leak reveals different Snapdragon chipsets than previously rumored

The new mid-range Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled to launch in China on July 14. The company has already confirmed several specifications of the Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro, including their display and battery details. A new leak has now shed light on more information about both smartphones.
According to tipster Experience More on Weibo, the standard Redmi Note 17 will be powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, while the Note 17 Pro will use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. This contradicts previous leaks, which suggested that the standard and Pro models would feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, respectively.
The leak reiterates that the Redmi Note 17 will feature a 7-inch display, but adds that it will be a Samsung E4 Pro panel with a 1080p resolution. Other alleged specifications include an optical fingerprint sensor, an IP65 rating, and a plastic frame. It is confirmed to feature an 8,000mAh battery with 45W charging (20K Anker power bank curr. $69.99 on Amazon).
Furthermore, Xiaomi has already revealed that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will sport a flat display with a "1.5K" resolution, while the latest leak claims that the panel will measure 6.83 inches. The leak also mentions a 50MP primary camera, an optical fingerprint sensor, and a plastic frame.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro will pack a 9,000mAh battery with 67W charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. The phone will also offer IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K water and dust resistance ratings.
