Xiaomi confirms Redmi Note 17 (Pro) launch date, unveils design in two colors

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series will be officially unveiled on Tuesday, July 14. Xiaomi has now confirmed this in new teaser images posted on the Chinese social network Weibo. Compared to the Redmi Note 15 ($252 on Amazon), the next-generation mid-range smartphones will not only feature a brand-new design with a slim bezel and a square camera module, but also a significantly more durable build.
The teaser images confirm that at least the Redmi Note 17 Pro is equipped with durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and is designed to withstand drops from a height of three meters. The smartphone is also IP69K-certified, making it waterproof. The teaser images show the Redmi Note 17 Pro in sky blue. The smartphone features a plastic frame and has two rear cameras.
Rumors suggest that the Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, a massive 9,000 mAh battery with 100-watt fast charging, and a 6.83-inch display. The more affordable Redmi Note 17 is shown in the teaser image with a purple gradient and just a single rear camera. This model is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor. The battery is also said to offer a 9,000 mAh battery, but "only" supports 67-watt charging.
In addition, rumors point to a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max, which is said to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7500, a 200-megapixel main camera, and an even larger 10,100 mAh battery. All other details regarding the Redmi Note 17 series, including information on pricing and availability, are expected to be confirmed by the launch on July 14 at the latest.
