Motorola unveils Moto G77 Power with 7,000 mAh battery, microSD slot, and headphone jack
With the Moto G77 Power, Motorola is introducing a new variant of the Moto G77 5G ($279 on Amazon) that addresses customer requests in many ways. This mid-range smartphone features both a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microSD slot, allowing users to expand storage after purchase.
The battery has been increased from 5,200 mAh to 7,000 mAh, which, according to Motorola, should enable up to 59 hours of battery life, or more than two days. Charging is handled via USB-C at up to 30 watts, as before. Due to the larger battery, the Moto G77 Power is slightly thicker and heavier, with a height of 8.89 millimeters and a weight of 215 grams. As before, the body is only IP64-certified and therefore not fully waterproof. Motorola sticks with a MediaTek Dimensity 6400.
There are also significant differences between the G77 and the G77 Power when it comes to the display and cameras. The latter uses an LCD instead of an AMOLED panel, though its 6.72-inch display still boasts a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a brightness of 1,050 nits. The 108 MP main camera has been replaced by a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor, which is paired with an 8 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 32 MP f/2.2 selfie camera. One downside: The Moto G77 Power ships with Android 16 and is expected to receive only one major Android update and three years of security patches.
Pricing and availability
The Motorola Moto G77 Power will first launch in India, where the mid-range smartphone will be available exclusively with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage for INR 25,999 ($272). Motorola has not yet confirmed any details regarding the international launch.
