Motorola officially details new phone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and magnetic wireless charging

The Motorola Edge 70 series includes several smartphones, such as the standard Edge 70 (curr. $529.50 on Amazon) and the Edge 70 Pro. Motorola has now confirmed the launch date and a few key highlights of the Edge 70 Max. The new smartphone will launch in India on July 15 at 12 PM local time.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, a high-end Qualcomm chipset manufactured using a 3nm process. The phone will feature up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 5,500mm² vapor chamber. Notably, the company claims that the Edge 70 Max can achieve an AnTuTu score of over three million points.
The Edge 70 Max will feature a QHD+ LTPO display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 7,000 nits of peak brightness. The panel will offer 10-bit color depth, DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Motorola also claims a screen-to-body ratio of 95.12%.
Furthermore, Motorola has confirmed that the Edge 70 Max will pack a 7,100mAh battery with support for 90W wired charging. The device will also support 25W magnetic wireless charging, a feature missing from other Edge 70 series smartphones. The phone will use an aluminum frame and a glass rear panel. There is currently no information regarding pricing.
