Motorola has launched the Edge 70 Max as the new top-end model in the Edge 70 lineup. The device features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery with 25W magnetic wireless charging support.

Motorola has introduced a new smartphone in India: the Edge 70 Max. It is positioned at the top of the Edge 70 series, which includes the standard Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, and Edge 70 Pro Plus.

Specifications of the Motorola Edge 70 Max

The Edge 70 Max is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, paired with 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone features an ArcticMesh Cooling System with a 5,500mm² vapor cooling chamber.

The phone sports a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels and up to a 144Hz refresh rate. Motorola also claims a peak brightness of 7,000 nits and a 95.12% screen-to-body ratio.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP Sony LYT-710 main sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a dedicated 2-in-1 light sensor. On the front, the phone has a 32MP selfie camera.

One of the main highlights of the Edge 70 Max is its large 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery (25K Anker powerbank curr. $104.99 on Amazon). Notably, the Edge 70 Max supports 90W wired charging and 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging. However, the phone uses a USB-C 2.0 port, unlike the Motorola Signature, which features a faster USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 port.

In terms of software, the device runs Android 16, and Motorola promises up to three years of OS upgrades and up to five years of security patches. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC.

The Motorola Edge 70 Max features an aluminum frame. For durability, the phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and rear. It measures 8.29mm thick and weighs 221 grams.

The smartphone carries IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. The device comes in Pantone Ice Melt, Pantone Aqua Gray, and Pantone Dark Shadow colorways.

Pricing

In India, the 8GB/256GB variant is priced at INR 54,999 (~$571), while the 12GB/256GB variant costs INR 59,999 (~$623). The official sale starts on July 20 at 12 PM local time. There is currently no official information about availability in other regions.
