Xiaomi officially confirms 7-inch OLED display and large battery for Redmi Note 17

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series is scheduled to launch on July 14 in China. The company previously confirmed some details about the Redmi Note 17 Pro, including its large 9,000mAh battery and 67W fast charging. Xiaomi has now revealed some information about the standard Redmi Note 17.
The Redmi Note 17 is confirmed to feature a 7-inch OLED display. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,200 nits of global brightness, and Xiaomi's eye protection technology. For comparison, its predecessor, the Redmi Note 15 5G (curr. $249.50 on Amazon) featured a 6.77-inch display.
Furthermore, Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 17 will pack an 8,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging support. In contrast, the Redmi Note 15 featured a 5,800mAh battery.
The phone is shown in a "Meteor Purple" colorway, featuring a patterned rear design. It will also be available in a green color option. Notably, the branding on the rear camera housing confirms a 50MP camera.
The chipset and other specifications are yet to be confirmed. However, a recent Geekbench listing has suggested that the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 17 may use the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. There is currently no official information about the Redmi Note 17 series' global launch.
