Acer releases new gaming laptop globally with 96 GB RAM and 4K Mini LED display

Acer has already released multiple gaming laptops this year. While many have been 16-inch models, the company also offers the Predator Helios Neo 18 with Intel’s recent Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor. Now, it has brought that Arrow Lake HX refresh processor to the higher-end Predator Helios 18 AI.
To recap, the Predator Helios 18 AI was previously available with up to the Core Ultra 9 275HX (curr. $3,379 on Amazon). According to our benchmarks, the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus should bring around 7% faster CPU performance to Acer’s 18-inch gaming laptop. Additionally, the new Predator Helios 18 AI finds itself with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU and 6th Gen Predator AeroBlade 3D Fans to maximise cooling performance.
Moreover, the 18-inch laptop ships with a 400 W power supply, which plugs into a proprietary port on its rear side next to an HDMI 2.1 port and dual Thunderbolt 5 connections. On top of that, Acer included a Mini LED display that boasts up to 1,000 nits peak brightness. Outputting at 3,840 x 2,400 pixels, the large display also delivers a 120 Hz refresh rate with 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
Acer prices the Predator Helios 18 AI at $4,499 in the US with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. By contrast, the Eurozone and the UK have received a 96 GB RAM alternative that also jumps to 2 TB of storage. These upgrades push the laptop to £4,999 and €5,999 (~$6,854) including taxes.
