Lenovo launches new thin laptop with 34-hour battery life and 120Hz display

Lenovo has launched the LCD version of the Xiaoxin Air 14 in China. Compared to the OLED variant, the primary difference is the rated battery life. The newer model is rated for up to 34 hours of runtime instead of 19 hours, which is a bit odd as it doesn't have a larger battery.
Specifically, it has the same 65Wh battery that's inside the OLED variant of the laptop. Of course, the LCD display should have a lower power consumption rating than the other one. As Lenovo mentions, the newer Xiaoxin Air 14 comes with a 14-inch panel with a resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and 91.2% screen-to-body ratio.
This LCD display has a peak brightness rating of 400 nits, while the OLED variant has a rating of 1,100 nits. The non-OLED variant also doesn't have any HDR certification, not even the entry-level DisplayHDR 400. On the bright side, the display comes with an anti-glare coating, which should enhance the viewing experience.
The other specs of the laptop remain more or less the same as the OLED variant. That includes the thin and light design. Lenovo highlights that the chassis measures as thin as 12.9mm and weighs 1.14kg (2.51lbs).
It's powered by the Intel Core Ultra 200V series, with the two options being the Core Ultra 5 226V and Ultra 7 256V. Both are paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, but Lenovo is initially offering the former configuration of the laptop, which comes with a 512GB SSD. The storage can be upgraded (2TB Samsung 990 Pro curr. $389.99 on Amazon), but the memory is soldered.
As for the price, the Core Ultra 5 226V configuration is available in China at CNY 6,299, about $929. There's no word on the global availability yet, but it could launch internationally under the IdeaPad Slim branding.
