Asus launches lightweight AMD-powered laptop with 120Hz OLED display

Asus has launched the a14 Air 2026 in China, and one of the major highlights of this AMD laptop is the light and thin design. The company touts that it weighs 990 grams, around 2.18lb. Its chassis comes in at 14.9mm.
Under the hood, it packs the AMD Ryzen 9 8945H, a performance-focused processor from the Hawk Point lineup. It features the Radeon 780M iGPU, which is still capable of handling AAA games with the visual settings turned down.
The laptop's 120Hz screen should further enhance the gaming experience, and the good part is that it's an OLED display with a resolution of 2880x1800 pixels. As Asus highlights, this 14-inch panel has a 600 nits peak brightness rating, 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, and DisplayHDR TrueBlack 600 certification.
Another notable highlight of this Asus laptop is the dual-fan cooling setup. Asus claims that this setup can ensure sustained performance while staying quiet. A 70Wh battery powers the internals, and the AMD processor is said to be capable of offering 45W of performance.
While the a14 Air 2026 is slim and light, there's a good number of connectivity ports, including one regular USB-C and one USB4. In addition to these two, there are two USB-A, one HDMI 2.1, and one 3.5mm audio jack.
A large trackpad, a comfort-focused keyboard, and a 180° hinge are the other highlights of the laptop. The Asus a14 Air 2026 is available with 16GB RAM, which goes for CNY 6,799, about $1,003. There's a 32GB configuration available, and it costs CNY 7,599, around $1,121. The former comes with 512GB of storage, while the latter has a 1TB SSD, and the good part is that there are two M.2 for storage expansion (2TB Samsung SSD 9100 Pro curr. $399.99 on Amazon).
As for global availability, Asus didn't share anything about it yet, but it will likely launch outside China as a Zenbook laptop.
