New slim and light Lenovo laptop tops MacBook Neo on battery life

Lenovo has launched a couple of new Wildcat Lake laptops in China, all of which were introduced in May 2026. The Xiaoxin Air 15 is one of them, and it stands as a new MacBook Neo rival with a slim and lightweight chassis.
Per Lenovo, the laptop, which is powered by the Intel Core 5 320, weighs 1.49kg (around 3.28lbs), and while Lenovo didn't confirm the thickness, the promotional pictures suggest that it has a thin chassis. Of course, it's not as compact as the recently launched Xiaoxin Air 13. After all, the Air 15 comes with a 15.3-inch IPS display, larger than the 13-inch panel found on the other one.
This 15.3-inch display has a 120Hz refresh rate, 400 nits brightness rating, and a 100% sRGB color coverage. While it's not as bright as the screen found on the MacBook Neo, the high refresh rate is a plus. Lenovo further highlights the anti-glare coating, which promises clearer visuals.
On the brighter side, the port configuration of the laptop is better than that of the MacBook Neo. There are two USB-C, two USB-A, one HDMI, one microSD card slot (512GB Samsung T7 curr. $150.31 on Amazon), and one 3.5mm audio jack.
Another notable aspect of this Lenovo laptop is the 54.7Whr battery. Lenovo claims that it can deliver 23.8 hours of video playback after a full charge. This battery life claim is higher than what Apple promises for MacBook Neo, which is up to 16 hours, and it didn't do well in our test either.
16GB of RAM, a 1080p webcam with IR, and a sleek metallic finish are among the other highlights of the Xiaoxin Air 15. In China, this Wildcat Lake laptop is available at CNY 5,499, about $811. This price is for the configuration with a 512GB SSD. Lenovo didn't share anything about the global launch, but it could end up in the international market under the IdeaPad branding.
