Lenovo has released a new 16-inch ThinkPad with Intel Wildcat Lake processors. Available internationally, the cheaper ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 can also be configured with up to 32 GB of RAM, a 120 Hz display and a higher-capacity battery than standard.

A few days ago, we reported that Lenovo had launched its first ThinkPads powered by Intel Wildcat Lake processors. Quietly added to its PSREF website, the updated ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 follows on from the AMD Ryzen AI 400 and Intel Panther Lake models that Lenovo started selling earlier this year. Now, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 has received its first release with Intel Wildcat Lake processors to replace older Gen 3 models we reviewed in 2025 (curr. $1,009 on Amazon).

For the time being, Lenovo has restricted these to parts of East Asia, Southeast Asia and Australia. Past performance indicates that the new ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 will reach other markets in the coming weeks. To that end, Lenovo has already listed the laptop as ‘coming soon’ across its European websites. In the meantime, Lenovo’s Australian, Hong Kong and Singaporean websites suggest that these Wildcat Lake variants will not be much cheaper globally than their AMD-backed counterparts.

For instance, Lenovo charges AUD 1,557 for the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 in Australia with AMD Ryzen AI 400 processors. By contrast, Intel Wildcat Lake models start at AUD 1,456 (~$1,015), or HKD 8,760 and SGD 2,112 (~$1,636) in Hong Kong and Singapore, respectively. Incidentally, these are much cheaper than Intel Panther Lake counterparts, which cost at least AUD 2,015 (~$1,405) in Australia.

By default, the ThinkPad E16 Gen 4 ships with the Core 5 320, 8 GB of DDR5 RAM, 256 GB of storage, a 48 Wh battery and a 60 Hz display possessing a mere 45% NTSC colour space coverage. However, one can configure the even cheaper Core 3 304 in some markets, plus up to 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB SSD, a 64 Wh battery and a 120 Hz display with 100% sRGB colour accuracy. This alternative display delivers the same 1200p resolution and 400 nits peak brightness as its 60 Hz counterpart, though. Please see Lenovo’s website for more details.
