Like most PC and laptop manufacturers, Lenovo has noticeably ramped down discounts and offers for many of its well-equipped machines. Fortunately, this doesn't mean that laptop buyers can't find some notebook from the previous generation for reasonable prices, as illustrated by the latest markdown of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon.
Case in point, Lenovo has discounted the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition to $1,580 including free shipping, which constitutes a 40% price reduction relative to the original MSRP of almost $2,700. This specific configuration is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U and soldered 32GB LPDDR5X RAM. A 1TB SSD and Windows 11 Pro are included, as is an IPS display with 1920 x 1200 pixels, 60Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB color space coverage.
Since almost $1,600 is still a lot of money to spend on a new 14-inch laptop, prospective buyers might want to take a moment and check out our comprehensive review of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13. Please note that our review unit was equipped with the much better OLED display and a quicker Intel processor, which means that some of our observations and measurements won't apply to the model variant that's on sale here.
That being said, users can look forward to an excellent and lightweight chassis. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon weighs just 2.1 lb, which makes it a suitable choice for frequent travelers, for instance. Our review further praises the keyboard, touchpad and connectivity options. On the other hand, the webcam is horrible and we noticed some SSD throttling under load. Nevertheless, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Aura Edition can be a good deal thanks to this massive 40% discount.
