Lenovo unveils new Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition with major changes from older laptop

Lenovo has updated its Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition with Intel's Panther Lake platform. Now on its 11th generation, the Yoga 9 2-in-1 shares some features with its predecessor (curr. $1,569 on Amazon). For instance, the new laptop retains glossy sides and a smaller display cover than its keyboard deck.
Likewise, the side-mounted power button returns. However, Lenovo has replaced the function row that occupied the keyboard's right-hand side with a conventional layout. Seemingly, the Gen 11 edition features the same 14-inch, 2.8K, 120 Hz VRR and 1,100-nit OLED display as its predecessor. While Lenovo did not mention another display panel option last year either, it went on to offer a 4K and 60 Hz variant too.
Surprisingly, Lenovo has dropped the Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition's battery capacity from 75 Wh to 70 Wh. In part, this has helped the laptop drop from 1.32 kg to 1.29 kg and from 15.9 mm to 15.29 mm in thickness. The new model is slightly wider and deeper at 317 x 223 mm versus 316 x 220 mm, though.
Lenovo also installs four speakers with up to 2 TB of SSD and 32 GB of LPDDR5x-7467 RAM. Currently, Lenovo advertises the new Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition with Intel's Core Ultra 7 355 processor rather than any more powerful Core Ultra X7 or X9 alternatives. The Yoga 9i 2-in-1 Aura Edition will be available later this month across Africa, Europe and the Middle East. The new 2-in-1 will start at €1,799 (~$2,115) in the Eurozone.
