Asus offers a new special edition of the convertible ProArt PX13 in collaboration with GoPro and we have already tested the new device. The hardware was updated and now features the powerful AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (Strix Halo). The price of the new convertible with 128 GB RAM is close to €4,000, so it is a high-end product.
A look at the spec sheet, however, is a bit surprising, because the high-resolution OLED touchscreen (2880 x 1800 pixels) is still limited to a refresh rate of 60 Hz. The panel ID reveals that Asus still uses the same Samsung panel we have already tested in the 2024 edition of the PX13. The refresh rate was already a criticism back in 2024, and the situation is not better in the beginning of 2026.
Then there is the brightness, because modern rivals usually offer better values, while the Samsung screen does not even reach 400 nits in SDR mode. The maximum HDR brightness is almost 630 nits, which is still okay, but many modern OLED screens reach more than 1,000 nits. Considering the high price, these are definitely justified points of criticism.
This raises the question why Asus still uses the old panel. The answer is the display size, because 13-inch screens are not very common nowadays and the focus of modern OLED screens is usually 14-inch and upwards. In short, Asus just did not have the choice of a better screen with the corresponding qualities.
One aspect you must not forget is that Asus offers very accurate color profiles for P3 as well as sRGB out of the box, so professional picture editing is no problem. The color accuracy is very good overall and no color deviation exceeds the target value of 3. We were not able to improve the accuracy even further with our own calibration.
Even though 120 Hz would have been nice, the 60 Hz refresh rate should not be a major limiting factor for picture and video editing. Please see our comprehensive review of the new Asus ProArt PX13 GoPro edition for more information.
