Ubiquiti: UniFi Network 10.1 adds WiFi roaming tracking

With UniFi Network 10.1, a range of new features is coming to Ubiquiti’s network software. Ubiquiti has focused on simplifying high-availability setups which should now be easier to configure, as the controller software guides admins through each step. After that, a failover verification is intended to test the setup in case of doubt by simulating an outage.
There are also many new features in terms of WiFi. Specifically, a new WiFi Doctor is meant to resolve potential configuration issues. For more detailed analysis, UniFi Network 10.1 also allows tracking devices during WiFi roaming. In other words, admins can visually see which access points a client has hopped between in the WiFi network by looking at the so-called "roaming journey". This is especially interesting for smartphones, but also for other devices that change location.
This is meant to give admins more options, such as better controlling AP density within a company or making configuration changes to steer clients to a different access point. Other additions include better integration of satellite uplinks, including signal strength information. To be more precise, this involves the integration of Starlink. The firmware status of Starlink hardware can now also be viewed within UniFi Network 10.1.
Additionally, there are new tags for devices on the network and optional broadcasting of access point names. About a dozen bugs have been fixed as well. UniFi Network 10.1.83 is currently in the release candidate phase, but all changes can already be found in the corresponding changelog.
