Ubiquiti UniFi Network 10.2 gets Time Machine feature and takes shots at Sonos

Ubiquiti Networks has officially announced UniFi Network version 10.2. The main new feature is called Time Machine. Similar to Apple’s Time Machine, it visually tracks changes within the network on a timeline. Status changes of network ports can be monitored more easily this way. Problems caused by configuration changes and subsequent port modifications on the switch might be resolved more easily that way. According to the release log, the past 24 hours are covered by this feature.
Furthermore, a new "digital twin" is intended to represent the physical configuration within Unifi Network 10.2, which could help with troubleshooting, especially during large-scale outages. This digital twin is designed to provide a clear overview even for larger rack setups. The announcement video also contains a more or less small jab at Sonos that seemingly makes the Ubiquiti community quite happy. More specifically, Ubiquiti shows a Sonos device to illustrate a network problem, which many users can apparently relate to.
The fact that the Ubiquiti and Sonos ecosystems do not work particularly well together is no secret. At times, these issues might have led to hardware changes several years ago. For instance, rumors claim that Ubiquiti launched the Ubiquiti Poweramp a few years ago as an alternative to certain Sonos products. That device was also on display at the MWC 2026 in Barcelona, and while it seems somewhat out of place in the current lineup, it was still prominently shown alongside new products such as the new network racks and the U7 Mesh.
