Ubiquiti has released the new UniFi Travel Router Long-Range. Thanks to its foldable antenna, the router can keep even weak connections alive or improve the range. Buying it will be difficult, though.

Ubiquiti Networks introduced an improved travel router design. The new version is called UniFi Travel Router Long-Range. With a foldable antenna the new long-range version can keep weak connections alive or improve the range to, for example, a hotel WiFi connection. Ubiquiti does not, however, specify how much of an improvement the new version is compared to the UniFi Travel Router, which was introduced at the end of 2025.

Other than the improved range, the new travel router offers the same functionality as the old one. It is powered by USB Type-C (2A@5V, not included) and does not feature a built-in battery. Two Ethernet ports and another USB Type-C port for tethering are integrated. On top of the device is a small status LC-Display.

For wireless connections, the router supports 802.11ac (WiFi 5) with a maximum of 867 Mbit/s. For management purposes, the travel router also has a Bluetooth chip inside.

The new travel router is already sold out. Ubiquiti cannot currently provide a restock date. Once available, it'll cost 99 US dollars. The regular travel router is still in stock for 79 USD.
