Samsung has unveiled that One UI is coming to its laptops. One UI Book 4 is the company's attempt to provide a cohesive ecosystem across its mobile product lines, even though it is just Windows 11 in not much of a disguise.

Lenovo will be introducing a mid-cycle refresh of the Legion 7i soon. Called the Legion Y9000K 2021 Exploration Edition, the laptop features largely similar internals as the Legion 7i but may now come with liquid metal thermals and a DisplayHDR1000-certified mini-LED display option. Availability details are not yet known.

The new Apple MacBook Pro models are starting to hit customers all around the globe and reports are mostly positive. We have also got our hands on a 14-inch model and have so far been impressed with it but we did spot another display oddity and this time it has nothing to do with the already infamous new notch.

The Apple M1 Pro and M1 Max SoCs have been thoroughly tested by AnandTech with some dramatic but also unsurprisingly familiar results. While the M1 Max rubbed shoulders with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU and AMD’s Radeon 6800M in synthetic benchmark testing, both it and the M1 Pro were left floundering in game tests.

Third-party retailers have started selling the Redmi G (2021), a gaming laptop that Xiaomi launched last month in China. The 16.1-inch machine is available with either a Core i5-11260H and a GeForce RTX 3050 or a Ryzen 7 5800H and a GeForce RTX 3060.

The Core i9-12900HK has landed on Geekbench, albeit in a closed benchmark. The early signs are good for Intel's premier laptop processor, with it outscoring all contemporary processors in its wake, including the Apple M1 Max.

Dell also offers the XPS 15 without a dedicated graphics card. The Core i5-11400H and the UHD Graphics Xe are not very impressive, particularly since Dell also reduces the power consumption unnecessarily. The performance is just too weak for 1600 Euros (~$1863).

The 2021 Apple MacBook Pro 16 has appeared in a leaked hands-on review of the laptop by a Vietnamese YouTuber. The new 16-inch model is compared with a 15-inch MacBook Pro, and it clearly looks considerably bigger than its predecessor. The video shows how well the MacBook Pro 16’s display notch can be hidden during operation.

The new Apple MacBook Pro 14 has appeared in both a brief unboxing video and in a side-by-side comparison shot with the 13-inch MacBook Pro. Those on the fence about the notch in the display might be pleasantly surprised by how natural it looks on the 2021 MacBook Pro laptop. Early pre-ordered devices are supposedly shipping soon.

Apple's decision to include a notch in the new MacBook Pros has created divided opinion, but the notch area houses more than just a 1080p camera. It is not clear whether Apple could've managed the same apparatus within the bezel itself similar to Windows laptops, but the larger camera sensor may indeed merit a bigger area. A YouTuber, though, has created a mockup without the notch, and it might just be what prospective buyers would have liked to have.

The new Apple M1 Pro SoC has surfaced in several Geekbench records running in Apple’s 2021 MacBook Pro laptops. There are listings for both CPU and GPU performance, with a 10-core M1 Pro easily outscoring an Intel Core i9-10910. The 16-core GPU part of an M1 Pro chip managed to keep up with the GeForce GTX 1650 in graphics benchmarks.

Several Geekbench OpenCL listings of new M1 Max-powered Apple MacBook Pros are now available. In one such comparison with a Dell XPS 17 9710 laptop powered by the Core i7-11800H and an RTX 3060 Laptop GPU, the RTX 3060 seems to have a 51% advantage over Apple's offering. However, Apple's implementation is able to achieve the present score at a much lower power consumption compared to the XPS 17 9710.

The lightweight touchscreen provides excellent and accurate colors with full support for active styluses unlike most other portable monitors. Its limited ports and lack of speakers and batteries, however, limit the overall usefulness of the monitor.

The new 16-inch M1 Max equipped MacBook Pro models have a new high-power mode. References to the mode have been discovered in the current version of macOS Monterey and do not apply to the 14-inch model.

Gigabyte hasn't opted for an ultra-slim or extremely compact case for the A7 X1, which actually brings several advantages with it.

Apple’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max silicon is incredibly powerful. Apple alluded to how it was able to scale these chips up from the M1 using what it called ‘fabric’. This fabric points the way to how Apple will further scale up its chip architecture for the Mac Pro.

Nvidia has dominated the laptop high-end segment for a long time. With the Radeon RX 6700M and the Radeon RX 6800M, AMD has finally introduced worthy competitors to the market. We were able to examine the MSI Delta 15 as one of the first laptops to feature the RX 6700M.

The latest Vision 14 SKUs include Intel's Tiger Lake-H35 i5-11300H and i7-11370H CPUs plus an optional RTX 3050 Ti dGPU, yet still retain the same slim and light chassis from the i7-1165G7 versions. XMG-Schenker tweaked the CPUs to achieve a sustained TDP of 40 W on PL1 and the dGPU is rated for 35 +15 W TGP.

Samsung has formally unveiled One UI 4 today. The OEM has indicated that this new interface is intended for use across all devices a given user might have from its brand, from its accessories to its mobile devices or PCs. Accordingly, it contains the latest versions of features such as SmartThings Find and Quick Share.

Much has been made of Apple’s new M1 Pro and M1 Max silicon and Apple’s switch from Intel’s processors. However, with the inclusion of Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, Apple’s new MacBook Pro models still feature Intel silicon inside.

Apple surprised observers when it launched its all-new MacBook Pro models this week with a notched display. However, it seems that the new notch could be problematic in everyday use.

Apple's proprietary USB-C to MagSafe 3 connector is required in order to fast charge the new 16-inch MacBook Pro that comes with a 140 W charger. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is the first device to adopt the recently finalized USB-C v2.1 spec that allows for up to 240 W Extended Power Range. Fast charging the MacBook Pro 16 via USB-C should be possible once USB-C to USB-C EPR cables become widely available.

The refreshed Juno lineup includes the budget-oriented 15-inch Nyx models with AMD Ryzen 7 5700U processors and integrated Vega 7 graphics, the Saturn mid-ranger with intel COre i7-11800H and RTX 3050 / 3050 Ti dGPU options, and the Neptune high-end solutions with i7-11800H and Max-Q variants of the RTX 3070 / 3080 dGPUs.

An Intel Alder Lake-P Core i9-12900H has been spotted in the Ashes of the Singularity database. The Core i9-12900H is a mobile Alder Lake part sporting 14 cores and 20 threads with six Golden Cove P-cores and eight Gracemont E-cores. Alder Lake-P will supplant the current Tiger Lake-H45 SKUs.

Apple also introduced the 16-inch MacBook Pro alongside the 14-inch MacBook Pro variant. Both devices share largely identical specifications, though the 16-inch variant offers a direct configuration with the M1 Max in addition to two M1 Pro options. Apple claims that a fully maxed-out MacBook Pro 16 outperforms laptops powered by Quadro RTX 6000 and RTX A5000 GPUs.

Apple has announced upgrades to its M1 custom silicon in the form of the M1 Pro and M1 Max. The M1 Pro and M1 Max will feature in the new MacBook Pros and claim to offer performance that rivals current top-end x86 hardware. The M1 Max also seems to be nearly 1.6x larger than a Rocket Lake-S desktop die by some rough estimates making it one of the largest SoCs to power a laptop.

Apple made some bold claims about the performance of its new M1 Pro and M1 Max SoCs, including their graphics capabilities. A quick and dirty number crunch based on the known graphics performance of the M1 shows that those claims are likely justified.

Intel has switched approaches with Apple, having run an aggressively anti-Apple campaign earlier this year. Now, CEO Pat Gelsinger has been speaking the Apple M1's praises. However, he still wants to tempt Apple back with better processors than it could manufacture itself.

Huawei has refreshed the MateBook X 2021, following in the steps of the MateBook X Pro 2021. The new MateBook X features a choice of one Tiger Lake processor, LPDDR4x RAM and is available in three colours. Huawei's ridiculously high pricing will put most people off, though.

Apple is expected to soon launch the M1X MacBook Pro 14 and 16, with the 10-core SoC being one of the highlights of the 2021 laptop refresh. The older 8-core M1 Apple Silicon still sits at the top of both the desktop and laptop single-thread performance charts at PassMark, with Intel and AMD so far unable to remove the ARM competitor.

The Ryzen 7 APU and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU allow playing all the current games smoothly on the matte FHD display of the G15. The laptop offers space for two NVMe SSDs and also has an excellent battery life. Only the display won't win any prizes.
