Realme launches budget-friendly 14-inch Book Enhanced Edition / Air slim and light laptops with Intel Tiger Lake-H processors
Realme is launching two new successors for the Realme Book Slim laptop. These are the Realme Book Enhanced Edition and the slightly lighter Enhanced Edition Air. The models are essentially the same as far as hardware specs go, but the Enhanced Edition Air comes with a plastic frame for the screen instead of a glass on in order to further reduce weight.
The two models feature a 14-inch IPS LCD screen with 2160 x 1440 resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio, 90% size to body ratio, 400 nits peak brightness and 100% sRGB color gamut. The CNC-machined aluminum alloy chassis is 14.9 mm thick, and the Air variant weighs 1.37 kg, while the non-Air weighs 1.47 kg.
Powering the new models is the 11th gen i5-11320H quad-core / octa-thread CPU from Intel with 4.5 GHz single core turbo clocks and 8 MB of L3 cache. The processor also integrates an Iris Xe GPU with 96 EUs and it can be coupled with 16 GB of LPDDR4x-4266 RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD that has Windows 11 preinstalled.
Port selection includes 1x Thunderbolt 4 connector, 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB-A 3.1 Gen 1, and an audio combo jack, but there is no HDMI video output or microSD card reader. There is also Wi-Fi 6 and BT 5.1connectivity, a 720p webcam with Windows Hello support, fingerprint sensor integrated in the power button, plus a 54 Wh battery with a 65 W quick charger. The battery can also be charged via the 30 W Dart Flash Chargers supplied with Realme’s smartphones.
Prices for both Enhanced Editions hover around $740. The non-Air version is already available for purchase, while the Air variant will officially go on sale on January 21.
