At a launch event back in September, the company announced that it would debut the Realme 9 series in early 2022. It's 2022 now and the Realme 9 series looks to be on the way. A new leak has now offered a close look at the Realme 9 Pro—a device Realme no doubt expects to duke it out with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 11 Pro.
Reliable leaker OnLeaks has now provided renders of the Realme 9 Pro, as well as expected specs of the phone. The Realme 9 Pro appears to keep the same design language as sibling devices like the OPPO Reno 7 series with two distinct camera lenses in a squarish camera module.
The Realme 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6.59-inch 120 Hz display, likely an AMOLED. Under the hood is tipped to be a Snapdragon 695, the same chipset rumored to be on the global version of the Redmi Note 11 Pro. Supposedly, the Realme 9 Pro will be available with 128 GB of storage as standard but paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM.
Camera-wise, the Realme 9 Pro is expected to feature a 64 MP main shooter, joined by an 8 MP and 2 MP duo. At the phone's front will be a 16 MP selfie shooter. Other listed specs include a 5000 mAh battery and 33 W charging. The Realme 9 Pro is expected to be available in color options of Midnight Black, Aurora Green, and Sunrise Blue.
The main Realme line has typically rivaled Xiaomi's Redmi Note series, and that looks set to continue with the Realme 9 and Redmi Note 11 series. The Redmi Note 11 series already debuted in China months ago but word on the grapevine points towards Xiaomi launching a different set of phones for the global market.
