New leak reveals interesting tidbits about the Realme 9 Pro+
Realme is soon to unveil the Realme 9 series of smartphones in India. A previous leak outed the entire Realme 9 Pro spec sheet, and now, its elder sibling, the Realme 9 Pro+, gets laid bare. It is the first time Realme has launched a "Pro+" variant, so it should, on paper, offer better hardware than its lower-specced cousins. However, its spec sheet seems to be all over the place, which is a tad surprising.
The information comes from renowned leaker @OnLeaks (via Smartprix), the same source that outed the Realme 9 Pro. Previous speculations told us that the Realme 9 Pro+ would run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. That doesn't seem to be the case, though, and the smartphone will instead use a MediaTek Dimensity 920 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Realme is no stranger to MediaTek silicon, but a mid-range SoC on a seemingly top-of-the-line model will not sit well with fans.
Other Realme 9 Pro+ specs include a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen clocked at 90Hz. Realme is back with its confusing screen specs again because the Realme 9 Pro is slated to feature a 120Hz (likely LCD) panel. There appears to be a hole-punch cutout on the screen's top-left corner for the 16MP selfie camera, and it's a bog-standard Realme smartphone with company branding below the camera modules.
Speaking of the cameras, the Realme 9 Pro+ will employ three lenses, a 50MP "customized" Sony sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP lens. As shown in the render, it will support OIS (optical image stabilization), which is a rarity at this price segment. It could also be how one differentiates between the Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+. Lastly, the smartphone will draw power from a 4,500mAh battery. Its fast charging wattage isn't specified, but we're probably looking at 67W.
