Walmart is now offering the Surface Pro 7 Plus for several hundred dollars off the original launch price of $930 USD. The deal is notable as the configuration in question comes with both a Type Cover keyboard attachment and 8 GB of RAM instead of just 4 GB and no Type Cover keyboard which is what many previous Surface Pro deals would carry.
According to our review, the Surface Pro 7 Plus Core i3 doesn't offer all that much over the original Surface Pro 7 aside for a decent boost in CPU performance and an even greater boost to GPU performance. Its 11th gen Core i3-1115G4 processor should perform about 15 percent and 50 percent faster than the preceding 10th gen Core i3-1005G1 in single-thread and multi-thread operations, respectively. Meanwhile, the integrated Iris Xe 48 EUs can be up to 150 percent faster than the older UHD Graphics G1.
The Surface Pro 7 Plus Core i3 is still nowhere near as fast as the pricier Core i5 SKU despite the performance upgrades mentioned above, but the faster CPU should help nonetheless for day-to-day browsing and multi-tasking. It's just too bad that the model exhibits pulse-width modulation and doesn't support Thunderbolt which could have boosted the tablet's connectivity options and overall longevity.
