PCIe 6.0 will continue to be backward-compatible with all existing PCIe standards and is expected to land in 2021.

ASMedia to produce AMD B550 and A520 chipsets based on PCIe 3.0, PCIe 4.0 only in 2020

ASMedia has reportedly landed orders to make AMD B550 and A520 chipsets for the Ryzen 3000 platform and will be supplying the same to motherboard OEMs by Q4 2019. These chipsets will continue to be based on PCIe 3.0 as PCIe 4.0 is currently exclusive to the AMD X570 platform. ASMedia is expected to tape-out PCIe Gen 4 designs by end of this year and will offer AMD chipsets with PCIe 4.0 support some time in 2020.

Google caught 'red handed' by lyrics site Genius for allegedly stealing its traffic

Lyrics site Genius has accused Google of displaying its lyrics in search information panels thereby leading to drop in site traffic. Genius uses a unique apostrophe formatting embedded in its lyrics and says that it has evidence that Google is directly lifting lyrics from the site. Google, however, said that lyrics in search information panels are supplied by licensing partners and that it will review existing agreements to ensure good practices were upheld.

The 4G/LTE and 5G broadcast market's value is set to increase by 73% by 2024

Broadcasts over 4G/LTE are common these days. The technology behind them is used for TV feeds, on-demand video, notifications and data-feeds. Their market will soon also be augmented by 5G analogs, which could push its value to about US$800 million over the next 5 years.

The Sony Xperia 1 goes on sale in China

Sony's latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia 1, started sales in the US for a price of US$949. It is also available in the EU and UK. Now, it has also been released in China, where it retails for a price translating to about $912.
