Details of the Honor View 30 revealed - Two phones, OLED, 5G, and a monstrous 60 MP camera
Honor is geared to unveil the next device in the Honor V-series soon, and a new report has thrown more light on the upcoming Huawei flagship. A few weeks ago, an image of the V30 surfaced, showing us a device with curved edges and a Galaxy S10 Plus-esque pill selfie camera design.
According to this new leak, there will actually be two Honor V30 phones: a regular Honor V30 and an Honor V30 Pro. There's no precedent for this in the Honor View series but there was an Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro earlier this year, which lends credence to the rumor.
The Honor V30 Pro will feature 5G support, an OLED display, a 4200 mAH battery with 40 W fast-charging, and a dual-selfie camera setup. The base Honor V30 will have to make do with a single selfie camera, an LCD display, a 4000 mAH battery with 22.5 W fast-charging, and no 5G. The Pro model will apparently also have 15 W wireless charging.
Also, the V30 Pro will feature a quad-camera setup, while the V30 Pro will make do with a triple camera system. Details of the camera configurations are unknown but we wouldn't be surprised to see a main shooter, ultra-wide angle, telephoto, and macro shooter on the V30 Pro, with the V30 getting rid of either the ultra-wide-angle or telephoto lens.
The main shooter is said to be a 60 MP sensor. At the moment, only Samsung has a sensor in that resolution ballpark: the 64 MP ISOCELL Bright GW1. As such, we'll likely be looking at a brand new sensor; perhaps one made by Sony to compete against Samsung's offering? If it's anything like the 40 MP IMX600, we could be in for a nice time with regards to the V30's camera performance.
