Honor V20 to cost under $500, could be best value flagship of the year
Huawei is set to unveil its latest premium phone, the Honor V20, next week. In typical fashion, details of the V20 have surfaced. The newest set of leaks give information on perhaps the most important aspect of the device, its price, and will be sure to gladden the hearts of Honor fans.
According to a new leak on Weibo, the V20 will come with an MSRP under US$500. The phone is expected to have two variants: One with 64 GB of storage, and another with 128 GB of storage. The 64 GB model will come with a price tag that translates to about US$410, while the 128 GB SKU will ship for around US$480.
The V20 is expected to sport a 6.39-inch FHD+ display with a camera hole, a Kirin 980, a triple rear camera setup with one sensor being Sony's 48 MP IMX586, a 25 MP selfie shooter, and a 4000 mAh battery. That’s quite a lot of phone for the prices touted.
We had a lot of positive words for the V10 last year, and it will be nice to see Huawei build on that while keeping the new phone at an affordable price point—as is usual with the Honor line. The V10 ended up being overshadowed by the OnePlus 5T last year, but if these leaks are confirmed come December 26, the device would have a huge claim to the title of best value phone of the year, perhaps only rivaled by Xiaomi’s Poco F1.
