Samsung has announced that it has started to mass-produce DRAM chips of 16GB in size and LPDDR5 in quality. This next-gen mobile-device memory is capable of approximately 1.3 times higher speeds than the nearest LPDDR4X module made by this OEM. It may now find its way to 2020 or 2021 premium phones.

Huawei unveiled its vision for a complete, connected ecosystem of devices at its latest product launch. This involves the new AX3 series of routers, which is powered by this OEM's Gigahome SoCs for Wi-Fi 6 support (and more besides). The company also unveiled second-gen "Pro" 5G consumer premises equipment (CPE).

The veil has finally been lifted off the highly-awaited iQOO 3. The highly-awaited Redmi K30 Pro 5G is will reportedly be launched sometime in March. This information comes via to a Twitter user who managed to get his hands on some promotional material. The device is expected to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, a 120Hz screen, and a 5,000mAh battery, among other things.

OnePlus is slated to release its new trio of smartphones soon, rumoured to be the OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite. While leaks and renders of the devices have already been posted online, someone seems to have gotten their hands on a few units and has been sharing photos. The photos confirm that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will feature a ToF camera, while at least one will feature a new colourway. A punch-hole display is apparently in tow, too.

Sony has formally revealed its 2020 flagship smartphone, and that it really is called the Xperia 1 II. This device has a 21:9 4K OLED display with the Motion Blur Reduction technology developed to step in for an up-to-date refresh rate. Available in China since August last year, Honor has finally given the 9X Pro a wider release. Announced at its All-Scenario Intelligence Conference today, the Honor 9X Pro features a 6.59-inch display, along with a Kirin 810 SoC, 256 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. The device also includes three rear-facing cameras, the main of which is a 48 MP sensor. There is a 16 MP pop-up camera too.

The View 30 Pro is packed full of impressive hardware, not least its five cameras. The device also includes 5G capabilities, a 7 nm chipset, a 4,100 mAh battery and supports up to 40 W charging. The device, which Honor launched last year in China, will ship with Huawei Mobiles Services (HMS).

Chinese gaming smartphone manufacturer Black Shark will release the highly-awaited Black Shark 3 on March 3rd. It is powered by a a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, making it the world's first 5G gaming smartphone. The device will also come with a 120Hz AMOLED panel, , up to 16 GB of RAM, and a battery that can be charged at 65W.

Google is now officially warning against sideloading Google services, the Play Store and other well-known Google apps on newer Honor and Huawei smartphones. The Galaxy A71 may be a convincing upper-mid range device; however, several leaks suggest Samsung has decided it would be improved with a 5G variant. A leaked render posted by Android Headlines shows off the upcoming LG V60 ThinQ. The flagship phone retains much of the design language from the G8X and V50 ThinQ, including a waterdrop notch and a dedicated Google Assistant button. Other specs are still unknown, though it's almost certain the V60 ThinQ will boast flagship components and 5G capability.

3C spilled the beans about the 5G certification and the inclusion of a 65 W charger, then Xiaomi confirmed the 65 W fast charging feature also revealing that the Black Shark 3 includes a 5,000 mAh battery that can be fully charged in 38 minutes. Other rumored features include a variable refresh rate 2K dynamic display, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an overclocked Snapdragon 865 SoC.

So, Sony has announced its first Xperia smartphone of 2020. Do not get your hopes up, though. The L4 retains the 21:9 display of recent Xperia smartphones, along with the underwhelming 2-year old chipset that powered its predecessor. The Xperia L4 comes with a 720p 6.2-inch notched-display, a 3,580 mAh battery and triple rear-facing cameras.

While the Mi A3 continues its wait for Android 10, its predecessor received its final OS upgrade last month. The upgrade path to Android 10 for the Mi A2 has not proven straightforward though, with it being possible that Xiaomi has pulled the OS upgrade for the second time because of bugs.

DxOMark has now put the OnePlus 7T Pro through its camera test. The phone recorded the exact same overall score as the older OnePlus 7 Pro. That makes sense, of course, seeing as both phones feature essentially the same SoC and identical camera hardware. If cameras are your major concern, there's no point buying the OnePlus 7T Pro over the OnePlus 7 Pro.

A new leak has revealed what is supposed to be early renders of Google's next flagship phone, the Pixel 5. An extra lens looks to be added and the Soli Radar system could make a re-appearance. The real bone of contention, however, is the eccentric camera module on display.

The Xiaomi Redmi K30, also sold as the POCO X2 in India, offers more than most contemporary mid-range smartphones. The release of Android 10 for the Mi A3 is bordering on farcical. Hyped by Xiaomi as one of the first devices that would receive Android 10, the Android One device is still languishing on Android 9.0 Pie. The upcoming Vivo iQOO 3's specs have been leaked just five days before its February 25th launch.
