MIUI 12 beta stable update made available to random Xiaomi Mi 9T/Redmi K20 devices in India ahead of planned public rollout
A post on the official Mi Community pages has revealed that a MIUI 12 beta stable update is now being made available to Xiaomi Mi 9T/Redmi K20 owners in India who have been selected by random. Xiaomi wants to test out this particular beta variant of the much-reported MIUI 12 firmware before pushing on with a wider rollout to the public.
The Xiaomi Mi 9T is the global name for the Redmi K20 that was released in the first half of 2019. There has already been news about MIUI 12 stable firmware hitting the Mi 9T Pro and Redmi K20 Pro and now it’s the turn for the non-Pro models. Xiaomi hasn’t stated how long the beta preview will last, but the Chinese OEM will release the public ROM if the beta period is classified as successful.
The latest V12.0.2.0.QFJINXM update is already being sent OTA with Xiaomi requesting that those who receive it provide feedback on the firmware’s performance. The MIUI 12 changelog is considerable (see below) and includes details about new system animations, super wallpapers, and numerous system fixes. The beta stable update file is 2.4 GB in size and can be downloaded from a link found in the sources below.
